"This show feels full circle," Jason enthusiastically shares. "I started my artistic journey here in Red Deer, moved away to Calgary and then the South Pacific after graduating, and now my studio is in beautiful Sylvan Lake. I'm honoured to be a Red Deer Arts Council board member, surrounded by incredibly talented peers. Having a solo show in Red Deer in my favourite month, October, is a dream come true!"
Discover Urban Tribalism: Jason's unique artistic style combines esoteric symbols, elemental cultural motifs, and the human spiritual experience within a bustling urban environment. His vibrant, candy-coloured artworks use spray paint, acrylic, ink, stencils, and collage elements. Jason melds cultural icons with mysticism, employing modern techniques while drawing inspiration from ancient pigment techniques, reminiscent of primitive cave paintings but with a contemporary, urban twist.
Urban Tribalism transcends mere stylistic classification; it embodies a fusion of esoteric symbols, elemental cultural elements, and the profound human connection to the vast universe. In Jason's hands, urban landscapes, wildlife, and diverse cultures intertwine to weave a visually captivating and philosophically reflective narrative.
